Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin' By World is an incredible 18-session program that encourages participants to build resources and create a plan for getting out of poverty and "Getting Ahead." ​

Through activities and group discussions, we investigate: 

• Causes of poverty
• Hidden rules we all need to know
• Resources to improve life situations
• Strategies for writing our own future story 

​Consider taking this step-by-step journey toward your future story.​

This program will help you to:

• Identify and solve problems in a safe group environment
• Do a self-assessment of our resources
• Develop a plan, a future story
• Get support as we build resources​

​What happens in Getting Ahead?

• Groups of 8-10 meet with a facilitator for 18 sessions 
• Each workshop takes 3 hours
• There is no lecturing, no teaching
• Participants, referred to as investigators, are paid for their work​

Investigators

Investigators are expected to:

• Commit to attending all 18 sessions
• Help create and live by group rules
• Be accountable to the group by completing all assignments 

Supplies/Support provided for Investigators:

• Workbook and meeting materials
• Meals at each session
• Gift card incentives ($25 each session) or option to start a savings bank account
