Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin' By World is a community-based workshop helping people in poverty identify and solve problems in a safe group environment, build resources, and create plans for stability and their future story; while exploring economic class, resources, and personal goals. There are no out-of-pocket fees for the participants (called 'Investigators').
The committee presenting this program is raising funds to offset the cost of providing these classes. The cost to provide these classes, based on 12-15 investigators for 18 sessions, is $10,000.00.

The "Getting Ahead" program in Kenosha is sponsored by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Kenosha, Wisconsin; a nonprofit organization with a 501(c)(3) status that provides support by developing and offering person-to-person service to those in need. Their approach is to give respect, love, hope, and joy to those reach; tackling poverty in all forms and resolving injustices by building a more compassionate world. Food, clothing, financial aid, with emotional and spiritual support, are given to the most vulnerable in the community.
